This is an image from my artists journal from the 11th November. We were exploring whilst thinking about the axel skeleton (head, spine and hips). The class began with us coming up with what we thought our axel skeletons looked like. For me, i tried to draw mine in proportion even though i knew my spine wasn't perfectly straight. Then we began to move, using the spine as an improvisation focus. I did alot of undulation (like the way a snake moves but vertically if that makes any sense) and leaning with suspension. After that, we were asked to redraw what our spines looked like. Everybody noticed a big difference in each others ideas. For example, my spine went from perfectly straight, to a longer fluid spiral, detatching itself from my limbs and becoming more flexible.
